Welder Fitter - The appointed person will already live locally to Didcot and the job will involve working with a team of welder fitters to aid the manufacture of our vacuum insulated pipework at our workshop in Didcot. Within a short space of time the opportunity to be part of an installation team will arise. The duration of our average install is between 1 and 4 days but can be longer depending on the job and its location and could be across a weekend which on occasions is to be expected. The construction of the stainless steel pipework revolves around TIG welding and you will be expected to want to learn this skill as your role develops. You may of course already possess this skill which will lead to a faster progression within the company. The use of MEWPS onsite is common practice and therefore you will be comfortable working at height. Skill Card, first aid and other courses will be necessary going forward to allow for safe onsite working. You must have good written and spoken English and be competent in simple mathematics. The role also entails driving to and from the sites which include UK, Ireland and mainland Europe in our Mercedes Sprinter Vans, a driving licence is essential. Other opportunities of travel outside Europe may exist. The pay structure includes a 10% premium for onsite working and all overtime outside the basic 39 hours is paid at time+half. This is a permanent hourly paid position. The starting hourly rate is negotiable. Annual holiday allocation is 20 days, rising to 25 days after a full five years of service, plus statutory days.
